MAYBELLINE NY STEP UP YOUR MAKEUP GAME

For this commercial, we were working with a vertical format and I created matte painted backgrounds recreating New York City as the sun was setting to fit with the brand theme and party vibe. The backgrounds needed to quickly read as New York, and several shots involved complex parallaxing camera move and full 3d projections. I had to create separate paintings, but maintain continuity between the buildings and shots while adjusting lighting and composition to fit our vertical format.
