In these under water shots, I worked closely with the lighting lead to develop a process we could project a matte painting onto geometry and apply lighting atmospherics overtop. We would go back and forth to develop the level of detail and contrast that worked for the perfect final result and cg water integrated edge

I the following shots, we created matte paintings of the ice ridge and ice breaker barge and incorporated them into the set snow and ice. Matching the subtle color, highlights and shadows of the plate and set snow proved to be particularly challenging for all the artists on the show and required many quick visits to the screening room to double check color.
